Predictive dialer is an automated dialing system that empowers call centers so that they can spend 50 minutes of each hour talking to live prospects. Predictive dialing software must track the dead air time on all predictive calls, enabling users to comply with the record keeping requirement and provide actual abandonment rates.

At the same time predictive dialer software generates a variety of reports covering all the aspects of the call center functioning. This type of automatic dialer solution tracks the efficiency of call center resources and agents through well developed reporting modules. Predictive dialers have more telephone lines than telemarketers. These extra telephone lines initiate phone calls while telemarketers are talking to prospects. Predictive dialers only connect agents with “live” called parties. And, they are delivered immediately with little or no warning to the receiving agent.

Predictive dialers may also be used by market survey companies and debt collection services who need to contact and personally speak to a lot of people by telephone. More commonly predictive dialer software are now being used as a quick and easy way to automate all sorts of calls which would otherwise be made manually by a call center, such as welcome calls for new customers, customer service call backs, appointment confirmations / reminders, or even for the automation of large numbers of ad hoc calls that might need to take place (such as by a taxi company, or parcel delivery service etc).

Predictive dialers also eliminate the need to hire extra employees by letting current employees talk to more prospects in the same amount of time. That’s why this type of solutions accomplishes to  forecast how many telephone calls need to be placed in any working scenarion.  That why people in the call center industry call this type of tool, the smart way of doing business, calls and take control of the customer service business.
